Pawn capture & en passant)

Capture: The Pawn can only accomplish capture on a square diagonally forward; thus the white Pawn at B4 can capture the red Pawn at A5 and the red Pawn at A5 can capture the white Pawn at B4. (see Figure 3)

Capturing En Passant: This is shown by Pawns G2 & H4. If the player moves his Pawn at G2 two squares on its initial move, and his opponents Pawn at H4 could have captured it if it had moved only one square, then on the very next turn, but only on the next turn the player who owns the Pawn at H4 may capture the advanced Pawn as if it had indeed only advanced one square... thus the capturing Pawn moves from H4 to position G3 and the white Pawn at G4 is removed from the board.
